Pusaka Sakti Mataram Lakutama (Sacred Heirlooms of Mataram – The Primary Way)

Lakutama (translated as The Primary Way) comes from two words Laku and Utama, Laku is the way humans attain a sense of where they have been and the will to move forward. Utama is the virtue of human connection; in this case Lakutama teaches how to achieve decency and human dignity approaching perfection to attain triumph and true independence.

Pusaka Sakti Mataram (translated as The Sacred Heirlooms of Mataram) is the part of our system for preservation of Javanese Mataram culture. In this regard, Java Mataram is a proxy for the whole of humanity. This culture constitutes an accumulation of a set of normal day to day activities that are recognized to elevate the degree of human togetherness in honing the five senses.

As a whole, Pusaka Sakti Mataram Lakutama endeavors to help individuals become free and responsible human beings through the noble teachings inherited from the ancestors of Javanese Mataram. This is achieved by cultivating a sense of selfless servitude expressed in the five bases for character development and by internal training to exercise the physical body, the ethereal body (mind), spirit and soul;

Action emerges by embodying an attitude of togetherness to build a harmonious society using the guideposts of the Panca Pama

Training in Inti Ombak Pencak Silat is choosing an ark to sail the ocean of one’s life. The IOPS vessel can navigate you through the proper channels to cultivate a sturdy physical body, a mind of high morals and a humble spirit.

After training these three components of humanity (per the Javanese Mataram belief system), the connection with the soul will open and a great light will radiate from within a freed human being.

Human freedom is the ultimate goal of PSM-Lakutama, so the teaching program is called “Mamenang”, which means human freedom that is sincere, unattached yet accountable in daily life and gives with selfless compassion. The four elements of humanity (mind, body, spirit and soul) function in harmony and with full awareness to glorify the Supreme.
